Damariz manages the Young Executives of Color Program for Undergraduate Diversity Services, Supporting first-generation BIPOC students. She has been with the program for 5 years, is a UW graduate, and is the eldest daughter of Mexican immigrants from the Yakima Valley. Damariz believes in the power of education to change lives and communities, and she is grateful for the opportunity to guide students in collaborative growth. She encourages students to stay connected to their roots while lifting the next generation outside of them.

Andy has been more interactive with UWiB and our
executive team this year than ever. He went out of his way to share
statistics about female students in Foster, offered programs for us to
share with our members (like Building Networks), told us how we can
send email blasts to support our group, and always checked in with me
to see how UWiB was going. As affinity RSOs just recently formed as
a separate network of RSOs, it was made clear to us that UDS cares
about our mission. He's the best!
